Adelaide Oval has enjoyed a proud history as one of Australia’s premier sporting and entertainment venues for more than 140 years. In late 2009 the State Government embarked on a plan to bring cricket and football together at a newly developed Adelaide Oval – delivering an internationally renowned, world- class venue for the 21st century.

This redevelopment was designed to continue the legacy of the Adelaide Oval, with many traditions of the grounds maintained. Simultaneously, it was to ensure the development of an iconic, multisport venue, energising the recreational edge of Adelaide for cricket and AFL sports.

The $535 million development, completed in 2014, delivered a world class sporting stadium with a seating capacity of 53,500

 

Services

Mtrack was engaged by the South Australian Cricket Association, responsible for representing their best interests through the design, administration and delivery of the project. Core tasks included:

  • Responsibility for the coordination of SACA operational input into the design process
  • Providing advice to the procurement strategy and project delivery in order to achieve best outcomes for SACA in terms of construction timelines, impact on operations, trading through the construction period and the critical requirement to be able to stage a full international cricket season throughout the redevelopment phase.
  • Identification of SACA requirements during temporary relocation of business operations
  • Managing the planning and implementation for the relocation of Management and Administration offices, Cricket Department, Maintenance and Workshop operations, Catering and other divisions within SACA which were impacted during the development of the venue.
